Canmore, Prince George and then Vancouver. What a way to finish up this already amazing tour! 

On Monday we drove into the mountains for our show at the Communitea Cafe, our favourite tea shop in the country.  We were welcomed by a sold-out crowd and felt so at home that we even played a few songs from the Dala Vault (“20 Something” and “Fortress”). After the show we had a cozy night’s stay at the Paintbox Lodge, where I drank tea by the fire and admired the plaid carpet. 

On Tuesday we made the trek to Prince George BC for the Cold Snap Winter Music Festival. I was overwhelmed by the warmth of the volunteers and by the passion for music that seems to thrive in Prince George. We opened for Martyn Joseph, who blew us away with his emotional performance, and we joined Jo Beattie and the rest of the community for a celebratory piece of cake at Nancy O’s afterwards. I feel honoured to have been welcomed into the life of this amazing BC city. Hopefully we’ll be back soon!

This morning we flew into Vancouver for our show at the Rogue Folk Club and the first thing I did was find some sushi! We dropped in to 104 The Shore (they've been playing 'Alive' regularly!) for an interview and a song, then made our way to St James Hall for sound check. It was a great way to end the tour. After the show we signed cds and met Chloe, who came all the way from Seattle with her Mom for the show. She had been singing along with every song in the set! 

My cheeks hurt from smiling so much this week. We return home tomorrow after an incredible trip throughout Western Canada.  Thanks to every single Dala fan, new and old, for making this all possible. 

With the last show under our belts, Sheila and I will be gearing up for our filmed PBS concert in Richmond Hill next week. The Dala trains never seems to stop...
